Closure of Stellenbosch Store

It is with great sadness that we have decided to permanently close our Digicape retail store located at 3 Bird Street in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.

We initially shut our Stellenbosch store when lockdown was first announced earlier this year, with the intention of reopening as soon as we were permitted. Unfortunately, the pandemic has taken its toll, and our store has remained closed since March.

Located near to Stellenbosch University in order to serve our base of student customers, the store was dealt a significant blow with the university’s closure. While it may have since reopened, many students continue to study remotely or have returned on a limited basis, impacting our foothold in this area. In addition, tourism is expected to remain slow over the next few months, adversely affecting a region that typically sees a high number of international visitors over the course of the year.

As a result, we would be unable to trade at our normal capacity for the foreseeable future, and we’ve therefore decided to consolidate and focus our efforts on where we can offer the most value to the greatest number of customers.

Our retail stores in Sandhurst, Johannesburg and Roeland Square, Cape Town remain open for business. You are also able to purchase our full range of products on Digicape’s online store, which offers a seamless, 24-hour shopping experience with nationwide delivery.

To ensure that you enjoy the full Digicape service experience from the comfort of your home, we offer a ‘Virtual Shopper’ experience, where you are able to book a free 30 minute online video or telephone consultation with your personal Apple Expert from Digicape, who will talk you through the features of the product(s) you are interested in and answer all of your questions. We also offer a Repair Collection service, where a member of our team will collect your device free of charge, and transfer it to our service centre for repair.

While we are sad to be closing the doors of our much-loved Stellenbosch store, we are fortunate that our business remains in a strong and stable position, and we look forward to a brighter 2021.
